Sigma SE HF X-80XP Base Vertical Antenna 1kW

$490.00

Description

SE HF X-80XP: The X-80XP is an aluminum vertical antenna for the 80 m to 6 m bands, accepting power up to 1000 Watts PEP, and is powered using 50 Ohm coaxial cable via a SO-239 socket at the base of the unit. The 4:1 balun (UNUN) is housed in a sealed IP65 box at the bottom of the base stand. The antenna can be grounded if the user experiences excessive local static, but since the balun is shorted (DC grounded) grounding will not affect the standing wave ratio.
The transformer reduces the impedance at the feed point to a more acceptable level making the antenna much more efficient and allowing accurate and easy tuning via an external ATU (manual or automatic). The antenna operates in transmission in the HF bands from 80 to 6 meters while in reception from 1.8 to 55 MHz, with a height of 6 meters. The antenna can be pole mounted at ground level or elevated depending on the user’s personal requirements. The antenna is rated at 1kW* PEP with excellent performance and easy installation, making it ideal for radio amateurs who want to operate at high powers.

Specifications:

Power Handling: 1 kW PEP or CW & 200 watts max for data modes
Impedance: 50 Ohms
Connector: SO-239
Length: 6 meters (19.7ft)

Frequency VSWR:
3.5 MHz 80 m (with Manual ATU 1.1)
7MHz 40m with ATU 1.1
10MHz 30m with ATU 1.1
14MHz 20m with ATU 1.1
18 MHz 17 m (with Manual ATU 1.1)
21MHz 15m with ATU 1.1
24MHz 12m (with Manual ATU 1.1)
28MHz 10m with ATU 1.1
50 MHz 6 m (with Manual ATU 1.1)

The UNUN is BIGGER than its smaller sister X-80, and can handle power up to 1 kW pep at the best tuning point.
This antenna is recommended for anyone operating in FT8 or other continuous carrier modes with power above 80 W.

NOTE: If you are using a high-power amplifier it is essential that an external ATU is used between the antenna and the amplifier, otherwise damage may occur. (Please note the aluminum tubes used for the X-80 XP are 1.2mm or 18 gauge wall thickness which is an upgrade from the standard X-80). The antenna’s performance across various bands with an external ATU is impressive, offering a 1:1 SWR ratio from 80 meters down to 6 meters
