Description
B11A: This balun is capable of 1500 Watts SSB and 200 Watts CW or continuous duty mode. The RadioWavz 1:1 designed to handle full legal power with a low standing wave radio (SWR). It has 1 to 1 impedance ratio. The Voltage BALUN is a Tri filer Air Core BALUN. This is one of the most common BALUN designs. 1.8 Mhz to 30 MHz with low energy loss. Typically insertion loss is less than 0.2 dB One of the strongest features is the fact that the BALUN utilizes an open air core. the air-core of the tri filer won’t saturate like the ferrite-core and, unlike ferrite-core wire-wound baluns, single-layer wound baluns almost never have an insulation breakdown problem. Also, a Trifilar-wound BALUN does not like to work into anything but a perfectly balanced load. With an imperfectly balanced load, the coax-balun will not, as does the trifilar balun, generate a differential, third RF-current on the outside of the coax that brings the RF to the input of the tuner.
