BL-49: The CG Antennas BL-49 is a high performance QRP balun with a 49:1 conversion ratio – ideal for building end-fed wire antennas for all HF bands . Thanks to its high power capacity of up to 600 watts PEP, this balun is suitable for both QRP and more intensive use, at home or in the field. The design is compact, robust, and features a reliable UHF-Female (SO-239) coaxial connection. Suitable for use from 160 meters to 10 meters , it’s perfect for portable operators, contesters, and fixed installations looking for efficiency and simplicity. Typically allows the EFHW antenna to operate on harmonically related bands (e.g., 10m, 20m, 40m, 80m) with minimal need for an antenna tuner or in some cases no tuner. The radiation of an EFHW antenna is similar to that of a dipole. The antenna can be suspended as a sloper, angled as an inverted-V or inverted-L, or straight and parallel to the ground.
