Pro7iC-BU: The Pro7iC comes with the Heil iC electret microphone element that is designed to work with ICOM radios. The iC element utilizes bias power in ICOM radios which addresses low-gain issues that arise when using dynamic elements. The -3dB points are fixed at 80 Hz and 12.5 kHz. The iC element requires +5 volts DC bias power, which all ICOM rigs provide. The iC adapters have no internal DC blocking capacitor so bias voltage can be passed allowing the iC electret element to operate. The Pro7 headset delivers excellent transmit clarity and strong receive performance, making it ideal for DX operation, contesting and everyday amateur radio use.

Features:
Icom-Specific Electret Element: Provides a frequency response of 35Hz – 12kHz, optimized for clear speech articulation.
Passive Noise Reduction (PNR): Large ear cups and 2-inch thick gel-filled foam pads provide approximately 26 dB of outside noise reduction.
Phase Reversal Switch: A unique feature that acoustically “widens” the sound field, helping operators “dig out” weak signals in crowded pileups.
Balance Control: Allows you to adjust the volume of the left speaker independently to match your hearing or preferences.
Monitor Jack: Newer versions include a jack that allows a second operator to plug in and monitor audio simultaneously.

Connection Requirements:
Adapter Needed: To connect to your specific Icom radio, you typically require an AD-1-IC (8-pin round) or AD-1-ICM (8-pin modular) adapter cable, which is often sold separately.
PTT: The headset includes a detachable coil cable with a “soft touch” inline Push-To-Talk (PTT) button.
