Description
X-300a:Diamond antennas are ruggedly constructed and will last for many years without problems. The base is made of anodized cast aluminum, the outer tube of UV-resistant plastic (FRP, Fibre Reinforced Plastic). The internal protected radiator is constructed of thick brass or copper-bronze. This makes the antennas durable even in harsh conditions, they can usually be used up to 144km/h wind speed or more. They are mounted using a supplied standpipe that protects the connector socket from external influences. The standpipe is attached to a mast with two supplied clamps and U-bolts. Radials (if used), screws and U-bolts are stainless steel, standpipe and clamps are aluminum. The antennas are electrically grounded, thus avoiding static charge and the associated patter in the receiver. The Diamond SE, X and VX series use multiple stacked radiators to achieve higher gain. The radiation becomes flatter as the gain increases. The longer antennas are disassembled into two or three parts for transport. This keeps transportation costs within reasonable limits. These antennas must be assembled before the first use. The screw points are well sealed with an O-ring to prevent water ingress.
